Fishing
for Salmon in 2007 There has been a
new suite of Salmon & Seatrout conservation measures introduced for 2007
which may affect where you can fish for Salmon this season. Please
familiarise yourself with these as they are very important. Presently the
only Fisheries in the Shannon Region open to Salmon fishing are the River
Feale in Co Kerry and the River Mulcair in Co Limerick. Both these
fisheries are subject to quota restrictions, bag limits and permitted
angling methods as part of the overall conservation measures.

Buying a ShRFB Fishing Permit Online
Anglers can
purchase a fishing permit (ticket charge) which is required to fish on the Shannon Regional
Fisheries Board midland fisheries group of waters. These
include the River Suck and lakes, River Brosna and Little Brosna
Catchments, River Inny and lakes and the Camlin River. Each fishery has
its own regulations and applicable close seasons. Coarse and pike fishing is generally open all year
but in some cases is subject to local regulations pertaining to the fishery.
